We are trying to buy a home being sold as a short sale. USAA holds the second mortgage. They had signed off on everything and then the appraisal came back lower than the selling price. The first mortgage signed off on the new price but USAA is refusing even though the amount they are getting from the sale has no changed one cent. We found this out last Friday. We have been trying to get an answer and were told on Wed. that it would have to go to a committee that meets on Thurs.
