I lost my job June 2008, a month after I made my FIRST payment to GMAC. With the severance monies I received I continued to pay GMAC, but also contacted them the following week after I lost my job. They set up an arrangement with me in writing which expired in October 2008. In October I still had not found suitable employment so I contacted GMAC again. They stated they could not do anything as I was not LATE on my payments. However I was granted a 30 day extension that would carry me to December 6, 2008.
