On a recommendation, I purchased the 1st NTFS Recovery software to try and restore a lost file I was in dire need of having on hand. I had used the trial version and, considering the nature of the document, thought that an "unavailable preview" just meant the program could not read all aspects of the document and thus could not display any sort of preview.
