In March of 2009 I heard of a company on Good Morning America which stated that they would help negotiate a better rate with your current lender to make your mortgage payments more affordable. They promised that if your lender did not agree you would get your fee back for their service of $995.00. Also any payments that you were behind in would supposedly be tacked on to the mortgage and you would start fresh with the new interest rate also restoring your credit.
