We purchased the Maytag newptune approx eight years agao. Within a month, the mother computer board went. Within the first year the mother board went again. Both times it was serviced promptly but because of these problems, we purchased the Maytag Dependability Plus Extended Service Plan. We have had occassion to use it about three times in the last few years. On the last renewal of the plan (previously bought two one yr plans for approx $76 each), we purchased the three yr plan for approx $300.
