Hawk Moving Services
Mark Johnston July 10, 2011
I had Hawk Moving Services move my furniture and they broke a leg on an antique table and did not tell me about it, thinking I would not notice. When I called one of the owners, Casey, he actually laughed about it and said his company would not pay for it. He was a real jerk. Hawk Moving Services has two locations; one on Maple Avenue in Dallas and another location on Main Street in Fort Worth. Avoid these guys at all cost if you don’t want your furniture damaged. I have read other complaints where the movers from Hawk Moving... read full review »

Chip's Auto Repair of Carrollton
Mark Johnston July 9, 2011
Would not recommend Chip’s Auto Repair of Carrollton as a mechanic. I was looking to buy a used car and I took a Honda Accord I was interested in to have Chip’s Auto Repair check it out. I spoke with the owner, Chip, and he told me they do a thorough bumper-to-bumper inspection and it would take about two hours and the charge would be $79. I left the car with them and came back later to pick it up. Chip told me that his mechanic glanced over it and said it had been wrecked on the front and back end and that I should not buy... read full review »

Lia Rardin, Attorney
Mark Johnston December 26, 2010
I would not recommend attorney Lia Rardin of Dallas Texas as she scammed me out of more than $1, 400. She had done very little legal work in a case I was involved with. She told me I owed her the funds in cash and would not let me pay with a credit card. When I asked Ms. Rardin to present the hours she had worked on the case, she refused to do this and demanded the cash. I felt that if I did not pay up to Lia Rardin’s shakedown, she would take me to court and I would end up having to hire an attorney and this would end up costing... read full review »

Insurance Agent
Mark Johnston August 6, 2010
I called insurance agent Don Scott at Farmers Insurance and scheduled an appointment to see about becoming an insurance agent with him. Don Scott told me that because he was a district manager, that he was the only one in the DFW metroplex that could sponser or hire new agents. Later, I found out that this was totally false; there are many district managers in the DFW area that can sponser or hire new agents. I found one very close to where I live and I called Don's secretary and cancelled my appointment with Don Scott. Don... read full review »

Studio 21 Salon
Mark Johnston August 5, 2010
I had Kim at Studio 21 Salon in Dallas cut my hair and when she found out I was single, she told me about a Vietnamese lady who was also single and would like to fix me up with her. She said she her friend was very attractive and we could talk more about it over lunch. I took her up on it, thinking she was sincere. Per Kim’s request on where to eat, I took her to Tokyo One on Beltline Rd in Addison to find out more about the girl she wanted to set me up with. Well come to find out, there was no girl, Kim just used this scam... read full review »

Midway Auto Center
Mark Johnston July 7, 2010
I took my car to Midway Auto Center in Carrollton, TX to just get my oil changed and found out that is place runs a scam to try to get you to do unnecessary repairs while you are waiting for your car. They offer a free car was with your oil change to lure you into their trap. They refuse to pay for personal property that their employees damage while vacuuming out your car. I was waiting to get my oil changed and the service rep walked over to a girl sitting next to me who was also waiting and showed her a list of things that “needed... read full review »

Check Into Cash
Mark Johnston May 23, 2010
I went to Check Into Cash to cash a money order that was made out to me. The signs posted on the wall said their fee would be 5% for a cashier's check and was the maximum fee allowed for all other type of checks cashed. After I cashed the money order, the manager, Nikki Barnes, took out 8% instead of 5% and handed me the difference. I told her this was too much as the sign said 5% was the amount for cashier's checks and was the most for any type of checks cashed. She came over and looked at the sign and said it does not say... read full review »

Tile work
Mark Johnston March 21, 2010
I hired The Grout Medic of Mckinney, TX to replace some loose tiles in my bathtub that were about to fall off due to water getting behind the tiles. I called The Grout Medic and spoke to the franchise owner, Allen Butz. He came out and told me that the bottom two rows needed to be replaced. The tiles were so loose that he said his installer could probably remove the tiles without breaking them. I could then clean the adhesive off the backsides and they could reuse these tiles. These tiles were a discontinued style so if were not able to... read full review »

Prestonwood Imaging
Mark Johnston January 16, 2010
I definitely would not recommend Prestonwood Imaging in Plano Texas. Their office manger, a Mexican lady named Barbara, flat out lied about sending my MRI images to a doctor in San Antonio that I was to fly down and see for a hearing problem. On 8/5/09, I had an MRI (x-ray) done at Prestonwood Imaging. They were to send the report and the images from the MRI to this doctor in San Antonio that I was to see on 8/17/09 (Monday). I found out that they had mailed the doctor the report but not the images. On 8/13 (Thursday) I contacted the... read full review »

Lute Riley Honda
Mark Johnston January 16, 2010
My girlfriend and myself went to Lute Riley Honda in Richardson to see about purchasing a used car. We met with a salesman and he informed us that before he could speak to us about purchasing a car, I had to sign an “agreement” that stated that if the both of us agreed upon a price, I would purchase the car. I told him I really didn’t see the need to sign this “agreement” but he said if I didn’t, he could not show us any cars. I reluctantly signed the “agreement” only because my girlfriend... read full review »
