I purchased my Maytag Dryer Model# MDE4806AYW in Dec. 0f 2005 (less than 4 years ago). 2 days ago is started making a screaching, grinding noise (like metal on metal). I called the number indicated on my service contract and was told it was not covered because it was still functional. Because it would still dry my clothes, I was supposed to run it until it no longer functioned, with the possibility of a causing a fire. I am totally appalled at this.
