Bridal Preview International is small business that hires employees and then within a couple days has the hired employees sign an independent contractor contract. According to IRS guidelines for independent contractors, the workers are misclassified. When the owner cannot meet payroll, the office closes, all but few selected employees are let go, more people are hired, and the cycle begins again.
