My husband had to file bankruptcy due to medical bills. He was unable to get one of the creditors to stop a re-occuring payment from his checking account so he closed the account. Even though the account is closed, the bank has continued to pay this creditor, along with one check he had written before closing the account(which he paid from his new checking account at a different bank). The bank insists they are "required" to pay any items presented to them on the closed account. What recourse do we have to stop these payments? read full review »
