Faulty part (shift pedal collar) was discovered (September 18th, 2009) during routine service of a 2006 Yamaha fjr1300ae. Yamaha did not have the repair part. The motorcycle was disabled for more than two months. Yamaha customer service stated "they had never had to replace this part and were not planning to manufacture the part until December 2009". The dealer was most sympathetic and eventually located the repair part from a used parts source.
