This happened a few years back, but it's worth mentioning to anyone who may have both a TD Visa AND your checking account with TD as well. My mother had her credit ruined by my father (long story short) but I was able to get a student Visa card which I permitted my mother to use, so long as she put cash on it within a few days of using it.
