I never applied for a loan with Sallie Mae. All of my student loans were directly issued from the federal government as Stafford Loans. I graduated in May and in November (after the standard 6 month grace period) I began recieving bills and repaying the loan to the U.S. Department of Education. Suddenly in December, I got an E-mail from Sallie Mae stating my repayment would begin in January. I called the toll-free phone number to investigate.
