I recieved a camera as a gift from my husband, and he did not purchase the extended warranty. There was a 90 day warranty on parts and labor with the purchase of the camera, and that date starts from time of purchase. So, first of all be aware that if you are buying a gift know that the warranty clock starts ticking at time of purchase, not first time of use. Secondly, the camera completly stopped working at about day 115 and I am just out of luck. Walmart will not help, and Sanyo will not budge.
