In Dec of 2008 I purchased an Interstate Battery from the local Car Quest parts store for my 1982 Corvette. A 1982 Corvette has the battery compartment behind the drivers seat and is designed in such a manner that to put the Battery in backwards would be impossible. After proper installation I turned on ignition and the car immediatly filled up with smoke. The battery was disconnected and taken back to Car Quest to be tested.
