We stopped the ADT security system for my aunt at least 1 1/2 years ago because she'd become too confused the arm and disarm it. On Christmas day 2009 I went to check on my aunt and found a piercing screech that had been going on for 2 hrs. The phones did not work and when I called ADT on the cell phone to ask them how the alarm could be turned off, they had no answers except that if I didn't have the password there wasn't anything they could do.
