I've hired Dan Stoafer with Dan they Handyman to work on some projects in my home, including painting. Dan asked that I put a deposit of $755 to pick up supplies (excluding the paint as this will be purchased by me) and will be back the next day at 10am. I should have suspected something already when he asked me to write to his name instead of his business name. The following day, his people did not show up until 2pm and worked only 3 hours.
