December 10, 2009 I received a letter from ECN Research stating I was selected to participate in a consumer research program to evaluate customer service at Wal-Mart, JCPenney and Western Union. A check for the amount of $2380.00 was included. I was supposed to "mystery shop" for 80.00 at the stores, wire 1860.00, then keep 300. I felt like this was a scam but called the number.
