Sears installed a Kenmore central a/c unit few years ago and the unit has been under a master protection agreement since then, had a problem with unit not working properly and called Sears, tech came and said that the thermostat needs to be replaced and he wants $350.00 to replace a $40 unit that takes less than 2 minutes to replace it. What a rip off. I have been using Sears service for several years and on multiple rental properties and the thermostats have been replaced on other units by Sears without a charge.
