Advance Auto Air on Gibsonton Dr, Brandon FL replaced my AC compressor on a 1999 Chevy Tracker 21 Dec 09 ($559 for New Nippon Denso Compressor and $225 for labor). They said that it didn't need backflushing, nor an expansion valve or a new dryer because the system was clean when they checked it. They said they use only new compressors b/c of problems with remanufactured ones.
