Six months ago I contacted a loan modification company, Fortified Financial, to help me with a loan modification as I work full time and cannot spend my days on the phone. They charged my credit card $3000. Four months later they got an "offer" from my mortgage company that was actually higher (about $100) than my current mortgage payment!
