I originally signed up for Alltel mobile broadband. Since that time, Verizon has bought them out in this area. When I first got the service, I was told that even when running on 1X (the lower speed) that I would get, at a minimum of 10 times dialup speed and 40 to 70X dialup speed when on DO.
