I purchased a 5 year extended warranty on an atv from a dealer in AZ about 4 years ago. This warranty was explained to me as I could perform my own maintenance and add any aftermarket parts. I put an aftermarket air filter made by uni on the atv. 2 years later the atv's top end needed to be rebuilt. The warranty company covered the costs.
