My son received a $1900 check from his school. at the time that he deposited the check, via ATM, he had $180.00 in his account. Chase not only held the amount of the check for well over a week (they're still holding it), they cancelled his debit card (without telling him). When he asked why, they said they had reason to believe the check would not clear-although it was drawn on the account of an Ivy league school. That was the entirety of their explanation, basically accusing him of stealing the money. He has had the account for over two years. Unacceptable. read full review »
