Was quoted $150 (i.e.: one hours work) for preparation of simple tax return...final bill =over $1, 000. Returns and all tax information being held hostage until balance paid in full. Whats worse, the return was actually prepared by his assistant, and I am unable to speak to him directly (he refuses all phone calls and emails; his assistant just puts the phone off the hook).
