My brother attempted to refi an existing ARM as a Fixed Rate mortgage through Countrywide. He was told that they could only help him if he was behind in his payments, which he had not been. Per their instructions he naively let himself fall behind. He was then asked to submit the necessary documents and was then told that he would be contacted and not to call them.
