After purchasing a phone and prepaid card from Walmart, I activated my telephone and was happy with the quality of the reception, etc... When I requested that they port my old cell phone number, they said that the Straighttalk phone would have to be inactive. I was concerned that I would be without any service from either provider for the 7 days. I was told that I could use my Verizon phone until the number ported... Not true... you loose all service.
