My brother in law paid $39 ($29 start-up fee + $10 for the month) so he could work out while he visited. I chose to sign up with him because I was told I could continue the membership at $10 per month when the first month expired . When I inquired about setting up the month-to-month automatic payments, I was then told I'd have to repay the $29 start-up fee to start a membership.
