I visited Ann Taylor at West Town Mall in Madison, WI on Saturday, March 20, 2010. As I forgot to bring my check card with me I wrote a check, showed my drive license and the cashier punched it in to verify... the check was denied. She called her lead worker and she tried a few times and still didn't work. I told her that I just wrote a check 15 minutes ago at Boston Store next door and didn't have any problem.
