Put yourself in the cashier's shoes. People seem to want understanding and compassion from an employee, but do YOU have that towards the employees? Most cashiers are overworked and underpaid and deal with hoards of rude, demanding, entitled, apathetic customers; not to mention having to deal with underage sales issues, thieves, money and gas pump problems and the list goes on.
