I received a Sony Handycam from my children at the end of 2005. I haven't used it very often, maybe ten times and recently found that the display is blank.I saw on the internet that this was a manufacturing defect and Sony would replace it at no charge. I called Sony only to learn that the recall ended six months ago and the cost of repair would have to be borne by me. I argued my case with a customer service rep without success.
