I applied for a loan modifcation in Sept. 2009. I was told when I turned in all the paperwork, it would take about 60 days for the loan to be completed. They told me I didn't have to give them any money up front. Three weeks later they asked for $500. I gave them a check because they told me I was through the first phase of the loan.
