On Thursday, April 1 after baking muffins, I removed the muffin tray and shut the oven off. Or at least I thought I did. The oven temp. was 400. I went out to the mailbox to get the mail (five minutes) and when I returned all the hardwired skoke detectors were sounding in the house. There was some smoke, probably from the excessive heat in the oven and the upper heating elements were glowing red. I tried to turnthe oven off again to no avail.
