I am "Power of Attorney" for my mother. My mother suffered a stroke on October 5, 2009. She had been up to date on accounts until that time. On December 10, 2009, after receiving "Power of Attorney" and access to her checking account, I sent a letter to all of her creditors explaining what happened, and that she would not be able to make the full payments on her accounts, but, they would receive a minimum of $5.00 each month (which has been sent each month, and sometimes more, if she has the funds available).
