After nearly ten years with AT&T wireless (previously Cingular), I am hitting my head on a wall trying to switch services. We are 2 months away from being able to transfer to a new carrier, however, our daughter is at college and has terribbly spotty service. When trying to cancel 2 months short of 10 years, I am repeatedly told that I can't just buy out my contract and that if I were to leave now, they'd hit me up for $525 in ETFs - no exceptions.
