Cell phone insurance and warranty policies are often a scam and a ripoff. You take your phone in to get fixed, but they tell you it was water damaged because the "indicator dot" turned red. Then they charge you for a replacement, even though you shouldn't. This type of "gotcha" charge makes them millions of dollars and ripoffs many, many consumers.
