I sent my iPod classic to kingiPod for repair. They told me my music files would not be affected. They charged me $125 and returned my iPod without my music, without the original back plate that my wife had engraved for me, the "new" backplate was bent, the battery will not charge, and they sugggested I search Google for software to recover my music.
