Dec 23, 2009 I bought my son a new cell phone and I added the Handset Protection Plan. He lost it Dec 31st 2009. We went in 3 weeks later to get a new one (I thought we would find it but it ends up that it had been stolen and someone was using it!!) . In February, I received a letter from Cricket canceling the Handset Protection Plan on that phone effective Dec 31, 2009. It said I was ineligible since I had used it twice in a year.
