I purchased this product to replace a 16 year old unit. I upgraded to the 15 SEER unit to save on energy efficiency. Purchase/installation took place in Aug 2009. When winter rolled around, and the weather got wet and cold, I discover this unit actually freezes over solid, like an ice cube, rendering the outside unit useless. Only recourse is to switch the unit over to emergency heat (expensive electric coils) in the inside unit. Contacted the installer who said this is normal.
