I live in a condo that I purchased with a detached garage. The garage is equiped with an electric door opener and this works just fine. At my closing I was issued a key to the garage to use as a backup in the event of a power outage. As luck would have it the power went out recently due to a storm. I tried to open the garage door during the power outage and the key doesn't even turn in the lock cylinder hence unable to open the garage door.
