We have a 2010 Ford Fusion purchased in 8/09 for our son, who is attending school 1700 miles from home. We received a letter from Ford indicating that we should bring the vehicle in for "courtesy" transmission reprogramming. (They were very careful not to call it a recall.) Our son brought it in to have this work done on a Saturday. The following Monday, he had major transmission problems while driving on a busy LA freeway during rush hour.
