We purchased a car in 2006 and were financed with Americredit. Our car somehow caught on fire and totalled out the car in 5 minutes flat. Two days after they put us into collections. A week later it was listed as a reposetion on our credit. We financed a TOTAL of $18, 000 give or take. We paid 3 years at $315 a month, totalling up to $11, 340. Then they were paid another $10, 000 by the insurance company for the car. They are still trying to come after us for another $2, 700.
