I hold 4 credit cards with Chase. 2 started out with Providian, which was later bought out by Chase. Of course, I had balances before the takeover. My credit limits were initially dropped shortly after takeover (1+ year ago) but I did not complain. Today takes the cake - I received notification from Chase (4 separate notices) that they have halved in some cases my credit lines, putting my new credit line only hundreds of dollars away from my current balances.
