Situation: Santander Consumer took over HSBC. With HSBC, when you call for a payment deferment, they will tell you yes or no. Santander took over the company. I called in for a deferment and they verbally told me "ok you’re all set". A month later I get a bill for the past month with a late fee. It was not differed.
