Verizon representatives came knocking to formally 'switch' the neighborhood over to fios. My mother was paying $69 for her original package and they told her they would give her her first six months of the Fios package at $49, a $20 discount, and then $59 for the remaining eighteen months. She also confirmed this amount with the phone rep who scheduled the installation. The bill came, and my mother, 77 and on Social Security, was floored with a $79 bill plus fees.
