We purchased a Maytag built-in dishwasher model WU 1000 series 02. After starting it the first time, I noticed the noisy operation coming from its bottom located drain pump. I called the Maytag Factory Service Department "under warranty" and they came in and pronounced the operation and the noise as "normal". Throughout its life the machine was very lightly used.
