In January of 2010 I reached my boiling point with TCF bank, and changed my accounts to Harris Bank. I left the checkingaccount open with about $70 in it to cover any uncleared or outstanding items. I checked my balance for the first time and found that they had instituted a monthly fee of 9.95 for not having a $500 balance. I called the 800 number, and they said I had to go to the branch.
