Today I purchased gas for $20 at a Lukoil gas station with my AmExpress card. Lukoil charged me over $100!!! I never authorized more than the $20 for the amount I purchased. The guy at the gas station said the rest would be returned to me in a couple of days and that all gas stations do this. What is this about? Why on earth do they need to charge me $80 more than the amount of gas that I actually wanted? I have a small car and $30 will fill it up.
