I bought a Sony VAIO Laptop, model VGNFZ46OE, for almost 1700 dollars three years ago. The hard disk died six months after I got it. The laptop was still under warranty, so I sent it back and Sony replaced the drive. About three months ago the screen started to fail, it showed color lines and sudden changes in the display esolution. I have a extended warranty plan (400 dollars for two years).
