In 2005 I was nice enough to get cable under my name for my roommates while I was in college. It was my last year in california until I moved back home. Upon moving out I returned all equipment and had my bill paid. The lady at the office was nice enough and collected my returned cable modem. I realized on my credit report that it's in collections for not returning the items. Now I have no proof that I did because it was a while ago, so now they are asking for over $300.
