I ordered a DVD player from Buy.com paying their price for a new unit. However, what I received was a refurbished unit. When I contacted their customer service, I was told that the item was out of stock and was offered the choice of either returning the unit for a full refund, or taking a $40 credit. They flatly refused to honor their price for a new unit. This is bait and switch at its worst to dump refurbished units on unsuspecting customers. While I am usually amenable to refurbished items, with the appropriate discounts, in this case the manufacturer slashed the warranty period on their refurbished units making them even less attractive. read full review »
